AIP NSW Physics Research Poster Presentation Network Event

Sydney Quantum Academy is proud to sponsor the $1,000 PhD Research Poster Prize at this year’s event. The Poster Presentation is open to all physics Honours, Masters and PhD students across NSW.

This event provides an opportunity for all NSW physics HDR students to:

  • Present a formal, research-based presentation of their work to a learned audience in a friendly university setting
  • Promote research opportunities and achievements through interactions with researchers, academics, supervisors, students, employers and visitors
  • Prizes will be awarded to the best poster in each student category, based on scientific merit.

    Poster format

  • The poster boards provided will be 1.8 m high by 1.2 m wide. Presenters are to provide their own pins or Velcro strips to attach poster.
  • Include a title (in a large font), authors (presenting author underlined) and affiliations (institute/organisation with location).
  • Body text arranged clearly in sections in a 20-24 point font. Keep methods section brief, unless this is the main subject of the poster, and emphasise results where possible. Writing in dot points is appropriate.
  • Keep the aims of your project clear, and summarise implications, highlights and challenges encountered.
  • Include appropriate figures with captions, and sparing use of equations as necessary.
  • Keep literature citations to a minimum.
