Byron Bay Quantum Workshop Philosophy

Byron Bay Quantum (BBQ) is a focused workshop that brings together leading researchers and early career experts to discuss progress and problems in a specific area. The workshop is typically informal to encourage collaboration between participants. 

The three primary goals of BBQ: 

  • bring together experts working on different hardware
  •  promote interaction between those experts
  • advance early career researchers

    2026 Focus: Bosonic error-correcting codes & novel qubits

    Roughly the topic of the conference is new qubits, bosonic or spin codes, and other unconventional codes and hardware. BBQ is a leading forum for world experts on novel qubits and bosonic error-correcting codes.
