Join us for a presentation and discussion with Dr Mark Waller, Founder and CEO of Pending AI.

With more than 15 years of experience spanning academia and industry, Mark has built an international career applying artificial intelligence and quantum mechanics to some of chemistry and biology's most complex challenges. Today, he leads Pending AI, a Sydney-based deep-tech company developing computational technologies to help scientists design better medicines faster.

Mark will share his journey from academic researcher to deep-tech entrepreneur, discussing what it takes to translate frontier science into commercial impact. He'll also explore how AI and emerging quantum technologies are opening new possibilities for drug discovery, and why solving tomorrow's healthcare challenges will require collaboration across computer science, chemistry, biology and quantum technologies.

He'll share insights for researchers, students and aspiring entrepreneurs looking to take breakthrough ideas beyond the lab.

Pending AI is developing computational drug discovery technologies that combine artificial intelligence with quantum mechanics to accelerate the design and optimisation of small-molecule medicines. Working with partners across academia and industry, the company is helping redefine what's possible in medicinal innovation.
