Sydney Quantum Open Day

Whether your passion is in the natural sciences, mathematics, computer science, or engineering, studying quantum opens a world of possibilities.

From space exploration to improving medical diagnosis and treatments, quantum could change technology as we know it. As an emerging field with potential applications across a lengthy list of industries, it’s not surprising that quantum expertise is in hot demand.

Join Sydney Quantum Academy and our partner universities (UNSW Sydney, University of Technology Sydney, Macquarie University and the University of Sydney) to explore quantum study pathways and the diverse career opportunities that await you.

At this event designed for high school and undergraduate students, you’ll hear about:

• Quantum courses and units available at the undergraduate and postgraduate level

• Exciting frontier quantum research conducted at our partner universities

• How the Sydney Quantum Academy supports students through programs and scholarships

• How you can become part of the vibrant Sydney community of students and researchers.

TIME AND DATE: 9:30 am – 12:00 pm Thursday 7 July.

PROGRAM:

9:30 am – 10:30 am: Quantum Exhibits – visit booths to learn more about our partner universities and SQA, meet members of the Sydney quantum community and take part in quantum demonstrations.

10:30 am – 11:15 am: Presentations – hear from quantum researchers and students on the study and student experience.

11:15 am - 12:00 pm: Quantum Exhibits – another chance to visit booths until the event closes at 12:00pm.

LOCATION:

In-person: Register on Eventbrite to join us in person at The Quantum Terminal, Level 3, Sydney Central Station, 1 Eddy Av, Grand Concourse, Haymarket. We’re at a super handy location right above Central Station. Please note in-person tickets are limited so please ensure you register and select In-person ticket.
