Sydney Quantum Academy is seeking industry partners to join a bid for funding new scholarships under CSIRO’s Next Generation Emerging Technologies Graduates Program.

We’re seeking partners for a funding application under round 2 of the program, due 1 August. If the bid is successful, funds will go towards student scholarships commencing in 2023.

The scholarships will support students studying quantum science and technology at SQA partner universities – Macquarie University, UNSW Sydney, University of Sydney and UTS – at the Honours, Masters or PhD level.  Students undertake research projects co-designed with university and industry partners to address real-world challenges. An internship of up to six months with the industry partner can be included as a condition of scholarship.

It’s a unique opportunity for companies to play an active role in developing Australia’s future quantum workforce and benefit from stronger ties with the quantum academic community and emerging quantum talent.

In round 1 of the program announced in April, SQA with the support of industry partners secured over $700,000 to fund 24 new quantum student scholarships.

To register your interest to take part in SQA’s round 2 application or for more information, please email info@sydneyquantum.org by 1 July 2022.
